Before and After

Meet the Dentist

Dr. Christy Chen received her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Biology from University of California, Berkeley and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Indiana University, School of Dentistry. After completing her doctorate, she worked in private practice and community health center before dedicating herself to opening Salisbury Dental as her own private practice.

Dr. Chen is associated with the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, and West Central Dental Society.

If you ask Dr. Chen why she loves doing dentistry, she'll tell you, "Your beautiful smile is my reward!"

She wants her patients to be comfortable at Salisbury Dental, where Dr. Chen enjoys providing personalized preventative care, emergency dental services and restorative dental work, among many other services within her expertise.

Dr. Chen enjoys spending time doing outdoor activities with her husband and three boys. You can often find Dr. Chen on beautiful days working in her garden.

What to know…

Outside of our normal business hours, we will either meet you at our office for an after hours visit (after-hours fees apply), or work with you to schedule an appointment as soon as possible.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is not about being vain or “over-the-top”. In the spirit of achieving proper oral health, symmetry, function, and biology, we work closely together with you to achieve the most rewarding smile possible.

We consider various options, such as dental crowns to protect your teeth and further damage, or dental implants to avoid bone loss, along with teeth whitening to remove persistent staining. Coupled with proper hygiene, cosmetic dentistry can produce long-lasting results so you can enjoy your smile for years to come.

From simple to complex restorative needs, we at Salisbury Dental thrive on helping our patients to get the best results possible. Here are some of the ways that we can do this for you:

  • Crowns
  • Veneers
  • Aesthetic Composite Resin
  • Teeth Whitening

Restorative Dentistry

We offer the most advanced restorative solutions to overcome a variety of dental challenges. These solutions can fix broken, decayed, and chipped teeth, as well as prevent food traps, gum disease, and even misalignment. We are committed to helping you to choose the best, most effective solutions to restore your smile, from simple fillings to more complex options and anywhere in between.

Here are some of the restorative services we provide:

  • Crowns & Bridges
  • Implant Crowns
  • Tooth color fillings

Implants

Dental implants offer an effective way to replace missing teeth. A replacement tooth is implanted for a natural-looking and long-lasting way to restore your smile. Not only that, but implants function just like your natural teeth and help to prevent further bone loss. Millions of people in the United Stated have dental implants, and that number is rapidly growing due to the great results that implants can achieve.

If you have missing, broken, or severely decayed teeth and are in relatively good overall health, then you may qualify for implants. We help you to make that determination together so you can make a plan to work toward restoring the missing teeth that provide chewing function together with a beautiful smile.

Oral Surgery

Although a last resort in many situations, a tooth extraction may be necessary for a variety of reasons. If a tooth has lost its ability to function properly, or it is diseased, or infected, then it’s likely causing you more harm than good.

Here at Salisbury Dental, we identify whether an extraction is truly necessary. We work with you to make this determination so that we can get you on the path to relief and obtain better oral health.

Root Canals

Not all tooth pain is the same, and it doesn’t always mean you need a root canal. However, it may be the best option to save a natural tooth, or to prevent nerve damage and infection. It’s a misconception that a root canal procedure will involve a lot of pain and dread. Often, a root canal procedure is similar to other dental procedures in terms of creating little to no pain.

Here at Salisbury Dental, we work closely with you to understand the precise cause and source of pain so we can decide whether a root canal is the best option.

Dentures

Tooth loss of any kind, whether partial or complete, can have a significant impact on a person’s quality of life and self-image. We care very much about this and we know that dentures can offer a solution to this problem. Not all dentures are created equal, however, and there are various options. This is where we come in to help you understand those options, such as:

  • Partial Dentures
  • Full Dentures
  • Implant-Supported Dentures
